What to expect

Authentic Food Experience:

Learn how the make fresh cheese with the help of a local farmer in a beautiful mountain hut, the oldest in the area. Visit the dairy lab, learn the process of the cheese making and how to decorate it with fresh edible mountain flowers, grown in the chef's garden. Following the workshop, enjoy the result of your hard work.

Historical and Cultural Experience:

During your private tour you be assisted by an English speaking guide, that will meet you in your centrally located accommodation in Bolzano or at Walther square. With the included private transfer, you will reach the village of Kompatsch on the Siusi plateau, the largest Alpine meadow of Europe at 6500 ft.

Enjoy the stunnning views over the Dolomites and miles of green meadows. Once arrived, start an easy hike (trail itinerary will be choses based on your level) where you will be amazed by the breathtaking landscape of the Dolomites. Your guide will share with you legends, interesting facts about the area, its flora, fauna and its local population. After the hike (order can be re-arranged) reach the hut where you will meet the local farmer and start your cheese workshop. At the location you can also have lunch (not included) or in any other local huts. After the workshop, after an easy hike, you will board first a chairlift and then the cable car and reach the village of Ortisei in the Ladin valley of Val Gardena. Stroll around the village center with your guide, perhaps enjoy a coffe in one of the many cafes overlooking the main square. Your driver will meet you in Ortisei and transfer back to Bolzano.

If you cancel at least 7 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 3 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee. If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
